Budds Creek, MD (5/26/24)- Mechanicsville’s Derick Quade continued his tremendous start to the 2024 season with a win in last Sunday evenings 30 lap “Ernie Jones Memorial” at Potomac Speedway. Quades second career Late Model score, worth $3022, came steering his potent Longhorn No.74 and it would be his third overall track victory of the season.
Quade shot from the pole into the race lead and without question had the fastest car in the field as he would lead all 30 laps in rather dominating fashion. Kenny Moreland took second with Kyle Hardy, Jamie Lathroum and Donald Lingo Jr. completing the top five.
Panama City, Florida’s Todd Neiheiser held off a furious late race, rush by eventual runner-up Ray Kable, his first career Potomac feature win in the 30 lap Modified Mafia touring series event. Michael Altobelli, Ty Norder and Austin Holcombe would round out the top five.
In other Sunday night action Tanner Jones took top honors in the 15 lap Legends feature, Wyatt Hanson drove to his second consecutive and third of the season in the 15 lap Street Stock feature, Shawn Payne took the 15 lap Ucar contest with Jonny Oliver taking the win in the 10 lap vintage car event.
