“Hardy Third Different Winner in Potomac Crate Late Models”
“Scotty Nelson Doubles in Street Stocks”
Budds Creek, MD (6/28/24)- Winchester Virginia’s Kyle Hardy drove to his first win of the season last Friday nights 20-lap Crate Late Model feature at Potomac Speedway. The win for Hardy, aboard his iconic Rocket No.99, would be his 10th career Potomac Crate Late Model score.
Hardy drew the pole for the feature, and that was all he needed as he took the lead at the drop of the green flag and never looked back in the dominating flag to flag win. “We had a really good car tonight.” Hardy stated in his post race interview. “I thought the track was in great shape tonight because a lot of times down here we are running against the yuke tires, But tonight I could move around a little bit.” Chuck Bowie took second, Jeremy Pilkerton was third, 9th starting Ben Scott was fourth with Jarrett Edwards completing the top five.
Scotty Nelson drove to his second win of the season in the 15-lap Street Stock main. Nelson and eventual runner up PJ Hatcher slugged it out from lap five on, but Nelson would prevail for his 13th career division feature win. John Cobb, 10th starting Matt Tarbox and Gerald Shannon trailed at the finish.
Defending track champion Colin Long became the fifth different winner in the six races contested with his 13th career win in the 15-lap Hobby Stock feature. Owen Lacey, Richie Gibson, 18th starting Mikey Latham and early race leader Connor Cheseldine completed the top five.
Nabil Guffey continued his stellar season by grabbing his 4th 15-lap Strictly Stock win of 2024. Guffey’s 19th career track win came over 10th starting Jayden Hatcher, Larry Fuchs, John Hardesty and Johnny Hardesty.
Allen Griffith Jr collected his first win of the season and the second of his career in the 15-lap Roadster main. Cody Bottorf, Richard Taylor, 9th starting Tim Steele and Justin Borman would round out the top five.
