“Hollidge Ends Winless Drought With Coveted Potomac Victory”

“Hardy Rallies Late For RUSH Crate Triumph”

By Doug Watson

Budds Creek, MD (8/12/22)- Dale Hollidge had not won in the Potomac Late Models since the 2019 season but would end his winless skid with his first victory of the season in the divisions 30-lap headliner last Friday night. The win for Hollidge, worth $3000, came steering his Bruce Kane owned Rocket no.15K and would be his 15th career Late Model win at Potomac.
Hollidge drew the pole for the feature and would eventually lead every lap in an event that only featured one quick yellow flag. Runner up Kenny Moreland kept Hollidge in his sights but would not get close enough to mount any type of challenge and would settle for his best finish of the season. “I have to thank Bruce and Gina Kane for the opportunity they have given me to drive their car, and I’m glad to finally get a win for them.” Hollidge stated in victory lane. “We found a few things on the car the past couple weeks and it was the best it had been all season.” Tyler Emory, Current point leader Kyle Hardy and Jamie Lathroum would complete the top five.
In the 20-lap RUSH Crate Late Model feature Kyle Hardy tallied his 5th victory of the season and 11th overall Potomac feature win in his familiar Rocket no.99. Megan Mann surged into the race lead on the first lap with Hardy in tow. Mann, looking for her first win of the season, was driving a flawless race until Hardy swept in on the final lap to secure the win as the duo came off the fourth turn. “I feel bad for Megan because she ran a great race and I thought she was going to win.” Said Hardy. “We tried some different shocks here tonight and our car came in late and we were able to get Megan on the last lap.” Jeremy Pilkerton was third with Joey Love and and Scott Sweeney rounding out the top five.
In support class action, current point leader and defending track champion PJ Hatcher collected his 4th win of the season and career 28th in the 20-lap Street Stock feature, defending track champion Mikey Latham drove to his first win of the season and career 23rd in the 15-lap Hobby Stock main, Current point leader Greg Mattingly scored his 4th of the season and career 21st in the 15-lap Strictly Stock contest with Shawn Payne producing his first win of the season in the nightcap 15-lap Roadster feature.
