Lear takes Limiteds at Potomac, Pilkerton takes Title
Fall Clash for Supers Rained Out

On the final night of the 2025 points season at Potomac Speedway, journeyman Kyle Lear of Severna Park, Maryland served up his first Limited Late Model victory of the season at the Southern Maryland Oval. Starting 5th, Lear wrestled the lead away from title contender Sam Archer early in the event, then fended off numerous challenges by eventual champion Jeremy Pilkerton to take the 20-lap victory. Pilkerton rolled home second, good enough for the 2025 title, with Austin Lathroum, Archer, and Jonathan Raley completing the top 5. Heats went to Pilkerton and Ray Love Jr.
With just 17 points separating the top 2 in the Crate Late Model Division, points leader Chuck Bowie grabbed the early lead from his closest rival Roy Deese Jr, leading all 20 laps, enroute to his third win of the season, along with the track title. Jacob Burdette came home second in the event, with Jarrett Edwards, Greg Carrico, and Deese completing the top five. Heats for the 17 entries went to Bowie, Carrico, and Burdette.

In the 15-lap event for Hobby Stocks, points leader Mason Hanson won an intense race long battle with defending champion Ralph Price, wrestling the lead away late in the event to claim his division leading 5 th win of the season, thus claiming the title as well. Price rolled home second, followed by Trent Clemens, Billy Crouse, and Justin Hatcher.
Heats went to Hanson, Price, and Clemens.

The 15 lap Strictly Stock main found Greg Mattingly fending off the efforts of points challenger Brandon Crenshaw early, then defending champ Nabil Guffey, in collecting his 4th win of the season, as well as the title. Guffey, Crenshaw, John Hardesty Sr, and George Neill completed the top 5.

Allen Griffith survived the battle of attrition in the 15 lap U Car main, taking his third win of the season, topping Thomas Windsor and Travis Dye. With her fourth-place finish, Brooke Bowles claimed her first ever title, with Keith Brown rounding out the top 5.
Heats went to Griffith, Bowles, and Brown.

With the Friday action in the books, the focus turned towards the Saturday show, featuring Round 6 of Jim Bernheisel’s Fall Clash Series for Super Late Models.
Unfortunately, all day rain forced the early cancellation of the event, with Bernheisel and Track Promoter David Williams searching for a possible makeup date for the $10,000 to win event. An announcement regarding the status of the event will be forthcoming.
